The Geerhardus Vos Center for Reformed Biblical Theology and Interpretation at PRTS invites researchers, doctoral students, and others interested in biblical theology and hermeneutics to its Fall 2021 seminar at 10:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday, October 12.

Topic: “God of Anger and Hatred? The Image of God in the Book of Jeremiah”
Speaker: Prof. Dr. H. G. L. Peels, Professor of Old Testament and Senior Researcher at the Theological University of Apeldoorn

Dr. Peels’s paper, “God of Anger and Hatred? The Image of God in the Book of Jeremiah,” will explore the prophet’s descriptions of God’s anger and destructive judgment from the vantage point of divine love, which is foundational to his dealings with his people and enriches, rather than complicates, our understanding of his acts of judgment.
The seminar will be followed by a period of discussion during which participants can pose questions. For those unable to be present on-campus in Grand Rapids, the seminar will be live-streamed. There is no cost to participate.
